When we first set out to establish Hero Trees 214 we did a deep dive to see if anyone was already doing what we wanted to do.
Our search turned up nothing on a national level. But we did learn about Trees for Troops and the great work that they do.
While our mission is to serve our veteran community, we are aware that no one starts out as a veteran. We all start by taking an oath and becoming an active duty @service member. Then one day we transition out of active duty and receive our DD-214.
We just want to take a moment and say thank you to our active duty service members and to Trees for Troops for the great work they do in providing our service members with free Christmas trees.
They’ve been around a lot longer than Hero Trees 214, and like them, we hope we earn your trust and support. Our mission is growing and we need all the help we can get.

Last December Hero Trees 214 provided 66 Christmas trees to just one Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village. That location was in Houston, TX.
We will again provide trees to the veterans living in this village, but this December we are adding 6 new villages opened by Tunnel to Towers.
In addition to the veterans village in Houston, TX we will be traveling to;
North Charleston, SC
Atlanta, GA
Memphis, TN
Detroit, MI
Harrisburg. PA
Denver, CO
This Christmas we will be delivering a record number of Christmas trees to veterans across the country.
In addition to providing trees to veterans living at these Tunnel to Towers Veterans Villages we will also be working with multiple American Legion and VFW posts to distribute trees.
Operation Silent Night is going to be epic in 2026!

One of the beautiful things about what we do is how we do it.
We don’t just provide a Christmas tree to a veteran. We personally get to deliver our trees and meet the brave men and women who are receiving a tree.
We get to shake their hand, hear their story, thank them for their service and sometimes meet their family.
It’s a beautiful experience!

We had cards made so that our donors can write a personal message to the veterans who receive our Christmas trees.
We will attach the cards to the trees when we distribute them during our Operation Silent Night events.
Yesterday we held a small fundraising event and the messages that people wrote are absolutely beautiful and heart warming.
Thank you to everyone across this great nation who want to help and support our veterans.
So many signed up because of the attacks on 9/11 and their lives will never be the same.
Hero Trees 214 exists solely to pay honor and respect to those who served with honor.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks we set up a table at Orange Theory Friendswood, TX.
Members lined up this morning to make donations and write personal messages on our cards for our veterans.
We’ll be back two more times today to promote our mission of supplying veterans with free Christmas trees.

Today was a very special day for Hero Trees 214.
Last year we provided free, live Christmas trees to the veterans who call the Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village in Houston their home.
This property is managed by U.S. Vets and today along with Tunnel to Towers they held an awards luncheon at the George HW Bush Community Center in Spring, TX,
Hero Trees 214 was recognized for our contributions to the facility.
I’m proud of the work we are doing. We’re just getting started. Tunnel to Towers has purchased another 25 hotels with plans to convert them to more veterans villages to provide housing to homeless veterans and Hero Trees 214 plans on providing everyone of those veterans with a live tree for their homes!

In case you missed it, Tunnel to Towers opened another veterans village last week!
This one is in Charleston, SC and will provide housing and other services to veterans who have found themselves homeless.
These men and women have given everything only to find themselves with nothing.
Hero Trees 214 will provide a free Christmas tree every veteran who calls a T2T Veterans Village anywhere in the country.
They deserve to wake up Christmas morning to the site and smell of a live Christmas tree in their home and we promise to make that happen!

As we are about to celebrate the 250th birthday as a nation it leads us to wonder.
What is your favorite moment ir event in American history?
There are so many great moments. VE Day, the Gettysburg address, the moon landing, the Wright brothers first in flight, the Miracle on Ice, the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Our hearts are broken over the loss of 8 lives yesterday when a B-52 crashed at Edwards AFB.
Our prayers go out for the friends and families of those lost souls.
Serving comes with a tremendous risk. Even during a training exercise.
Rest in peace and thank you for your sacrifice to our great nation. You paid the ultimate price and we pray that God brings comfort to your families.

We had the honor of attending the “Steel Across America” ceremony at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Tunnel to Towers is taking a steel beam from the World Trade Center that was attacked on September 11, 2001 to cities all across America.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of that horrible day when thousands lost their lives. People continue to die today as a result of exposure to the toxic materials.
Hero Trees 214 is proud to support Tunnel to Towers and the work they do to assist our veterans and their families.

Today is a somber day of remembrance. Our nation cannot repay the debt we owe to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. This includes those who continue to leave us after their service due to the unseen scares of service.

I want to encourage all of our followers to follow the Armadillo Project: Honoring Cpl Travis Nowak.
I was recently speaking in Boise, ID and the brother of Cpl Nowak was in the audience.
He came up to me and introduced himself and briefly shared the story of his brother and why they started Armadillo Project.
We are honoring our veterans by giving them a free Christmas tree and we hope that this small gesture will help to prevent a veteran from losing hope and taking their own life.
We can do better and men like Cpl Travis Nowak need us to do better!

We are so grateful for the extraction of our airman from the mountains of Iran.
This mission required the effort of so many people. In America we value human life and if we have to deploy 100 people into enemy territory to save one life, we do it!

I recently spoke at an event and had the honor of sharing our mission and why we do what we do.
Afterwards a man walked up to me with tears in his eyes and said that he was an Army veteran and he needed to hear the message that I delivered.
We are so thankful for our brave men and women. It’s not possible to truly know the sacrifices they made unless you served.

Our prayers are with the families of the 6 crew members who lost their lives over Iraq when their KC-135 crashed.

This past Christmas we were honored to provide a free Christmas tree to the veterans who call the Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village in Houston their home. 2025 was our first year in existence and it was a thrill to make that connection and deliver so many trees to those amazing men and women. We have more than doubled down on our commitment for 2026. We are anticipating delivering free trees to 5 Tunnel to Towers Veterans Villages as T2T opens more homes. In addition to Houston we expect to honor our veterans in Atlanta, Charleston, Detroit and Memphis.
